Coachella Valley Symphony

Cello StringsIn 1993, through the tireless efforts of Jeannette Banoczi, the Coachella Valley Symphony was founded.  She wanted others to share in her passion for playing music and realized there were few opportunities in the desert.

The original conductor, Thomas Mancini, passed the baton to Maestro Christian Chalifour who led the orchestra from 1995-2010.

In this second season with our new conductor, our orchestra has grown to include new musicians, new members of the Board of Directors, and we have new sponsorship opportunities. We have updated our website and appropriately named this 2016 - 2017 season “It's Magic." We believe that what we do, creating music with adults and youth in this valley, is truly magic. We believe that the concerts we offer to the community and instilling a life-long love of music in our kids is magic.

As we celebrate our 24th year, we hope you will help us continue our successful history as we present another year of outstanding performances in 2016- 2017. We have planned a diverse concert series with conductor – Maestro John Mario (remove Di Costanzo). One of our new sponsorship opportunities is “The Conductor’s Club. " Members who donate $2,000 will receive a number of perks, such as 2 premium seats for each concert, recognition on the Founder’s Plaque, recognition in the Program booklet, along with special events planned for this season. We are grateful for our supporters, community sponsors and especially for our audience. Please join us to see the magic for yourself. /p>

The Coachella Valley Symphony is comprised of desert community residents, guest musicians, out-of-state snowbirds, and also includes some musicians from the surrounding Southern California areas. The 50-piece orchestra performs an extensive variety of classical and popular music.
