Buddy Rogers Youth Symphony

Buddy Rogers Youth Symphony

The Coachella Valley Symphony Educational Outreach Program began in 1995, when Jeannette Banoczi founded the Buddy Rogers Youth Symphony (BRYS) as a full orchestra experience for the young musicians of our valley.

Currently comprised of some 50 student musicians ages 8-18, the group has seen nearly 850 young musicians pass through the program. Several have gone on to perform with the Coachella Valley Symphony, while others have enrolled in music schools and conservatories as well as other institutions of higher education worldwide.

The orchestra rehearses weekly from September through May.  The String section meets at 4:00 to 5:00pm, and the Wind sections meet from 5:00 to 6:30pm.  Later in this season, the Strings and Winds will be joined together.  BRYS offers both public and private performances each season. Buddy Rogers Youth Symphony musicians have generally been studying their instruments for at least two years. Students are also eligible to receive scholarships that provide for private instruction. For many, this financial support represents their first opportunity to afford individual lessons. These lessons are provided at no charge to the student musicians or their parents.

Please consider a tax-deductible donation specifically targeted to the Buddy Rogers Youth Symphony so we may continue this worthy program. We are experiencing a greater need for your support as a result of the current economic conditions. Because we believe that music is crucial to the intellectual and social development of young people – our leaders of tomorrow - we remain committed to our students. Again, there is no fee charged to any young musician, so truly "no child is left behind." Your financial support of the students of this special youth symphony would be greatly appreciated.
